A reshaped NMU fit for future

With a focus firmly on the future, multi award-winning specialty insurer NMU confirms its newly reorganised business structure.

Following through on its commitment to implement a business model led by specialist line of business and central functions, rather than by branch, NMU is delighted to confirm the following newly created national appointments.

Cargo & Freight Underwriting Manager – Guy Smith

Engineering Underwriting Manager – Alan Scholes

Cyber & Financial Lines Underwriting Manager – Matthew Drinkwater

Sales & Development Manager – Nick Green

Operations Manager – Marc Fiveash

Other pre-existing national roles remain unchanged. An extensive list is available here.

Whilst maintaining core traditional values and preserving a strong reputation for exceptional service and expertise, NMU future plans involve further growth and divergence by way of additional niche product lines, coupled with adoption of an IT digitisation strategy – the mantra being to introduce technology designed to support people, not replace people.

Duncan McClean, Executive Director, commented “Exciting times are upon us here at NMU. Our newly created structure, coupled with the support of our parent company Munich Re, will deliver the perfect environment to support our growth ambitions and utilise current resources in a more expert, cohesive and efficient manner.

“We continue to have hugely experienced and knowledgeable staff across a comprehensive network of offices that take great pride in the service they deliver to our brokers and who have positively embraced this change, continuing to encompass the culture and values that make NMU such a success.

“Always striving to innovate and improve our working practices will enable us to continue to deliver an award winning service by empowered and locally accessible underwriters, thus ensuring as a business, we are fully fit for the future.”
