Rebrand of the Watkins Syndicate’s name with effect from 1 January 2016

The Watkins Syndicate (Syndicate 457 at Lloyd’s) and its Managing Agent, Munich Re Underwriting Limited, will be renamed as Munich Re Syndicate Limited with effect from 1 January 2016.

“This change underlines the strategic importance of this unit for Munich Re. Backed by the globally renowned Munich Re brand, Munich Re Syndicate Limited will benefit from the expertise of the whole Group in developing innovative insurance solutions. Whereas it has traditionally been known in the energy and marine market, Munich Re Syndicate Limited will widen its scope of activity. The company will be able to leverage Munich Re’s superior capital strength, and our clients will continue to benefit from our global geographical diversification and the in-depth expertise our underwriters and claims handlers have in marine, offshore energy and specialty lines business internationally.
