NMU Strengthen Regional Presence

NMU are pleased to announce the appointment of David Lumley, who assumes a Development Underwriter position, based out of their Birmingham regional office.

Having been in the insurance industry for nearly 15 years after joining Zurich as a graduate, David opted to specialise in marine cargo in 2009.  Since then, he’s played a lead role within Zurich Marine that culminated in a national development role, within which he’s built relationships with brokers across the UK.

David will focus particularly, but not exclusively, on supporting brokers based from South West England to the Mid/South Wales region and whilst his specialism remains cargo insurance (including freight liability), he will also be encouraging broker access to the rest of NMU’s specialist range of products and services.

“I’m delighted to be joining NMU – an insurer with such a strong brand and reputation in the market”

Regional Manager, Nick Green, commented on the appointment “I’m delighted to have David on board with us here at NMU.

“Having been a key figure for Zurich Marine over the last few years, we feel he is ideally placed to help us further develop the South West and Mid/South Wales region.”

David himself added “I’m delighted to be joining NMU – an insurer with such a strong brand and reputation in the market, and one with an impressive and expanding specialist product range.

“Backed by an unrivalled and award-winning service team, I’m looking forward to developing new relationships and delivering tailor made and innovative solutions.

“I’m excited about the prospect of representing NMU, and being a part of this growing organisation.”

Further strengthening NMU Birmingham’s regional position, Jenny Browning and Imiah Grant have been hired from Aviva, both as Underwriters (cargo).

Nick Green, concluded “The appointments significantly strengthen our regional presence and are aligned with NMU’s ambitions of being the specialist insurer of choice with brokers across the UK.”
